Keeping the Tooth Fairy Busy

Baby Goats
You know spring is just around the corner when the baby animals start to appear on the farm. We are lucky to have friends who have baby goats at their house. Amelia was so excited to go and see them and feed them a bottle. Last year when we saw them, Amelia even got a chance to hold some of the babies. Ashley was not too thrilled about the whole experience and just stood back and watched. (She really wanted to be inside the house playing with all the fun toys.) Elliot followed Amelia right into the stable, but when the baby goats surrounded him, he couldn't get out of there fast enough. And since he was just at the right height for the goats to nibble his ears, I didn't blame him for wanting to get out.

Sharon helped Elliot feed Pearl (one of the mommy goats) some apples that she had quartered. She told him to hold onto the apple tight so that Pearl could nibble on it. I thought that once Pearl got close to his hands, he would freak out and drop the apple. I was so wrong. He loved feeding her the apples and had no problem getting close enough for her to reach. Maybe it was because Pearl was behind a fence that made it OK.

Ashley's First Lost Tooth
Ashley lost her first tooth on March 4. It was getting pretty wiggly so I was so happy when it finally fell out. She was a little concerned that it would fall out in the middle of the night and she would swallow it. I'm so glad that didn't happen.
We went to Arby's that day and brought our lunch home to eat. Ashley is a super slow eater (she gets that from me), so I was putting a load of laundry in downstairs while she finished her lunch. I hadn't been downstairs for very long when Ashley came down with a very concerned look on her face. She was worried that she would swallow the blood. It took her a minute to tell me that her tooth fell out and that she didn't know where it was. Since she was eating, I thought there was a chance that she may have swallowed her tooth. Luckily, it had fallen to her chair and she was sitting on it. That is her favorite part of the story to tell.
Once we found her tooth, we put it in a bag so hopefully it won't get lost. I asked her if she wanted to put it under her pillow for the Tooth Fairy, but she said that she wants to show it to the whole world first. She also made phone calls to Dad, Grandma Corinne and Sister Dalley (her primary teacher). This morning, she took her tooth to school and showed all of her pre-school friends. I'm not sure if her tooth will ever make it under her pillow. She loves it so much. I tell her every night how fun it is to brush her teeth because there are only 19 of them to brush.
Ashley's new grin and her "tooth hole".

Micah - 1 month and 2 months old
Micah is growing up so fast! Time is just flying by. He is so fun to have in our family. Elliot especially loves baby "Guy-cah" and asks to hold him all the time.
Micah at one month old. He is wearing the outfit that Elliot came home from the hospital in. Love that look on his face.
Micah at 2 months old. I actually took this picture the day before he turned 2 months old and I'm glad I did because he was really cranky after his check-up and shots the next day. Part of that is my fault because I was completely out of infant Tylenol. Oops. He is smiling now which Ashley tells me about every time he does. Here are his stats from his check-up...
Height: 24.25"
Weight: 13 lbs 10 ozs
Head: 15.75"
He is such a light weight. The girls were both 16 lbs by 2 months and Elliot was just shy of 16 lbs by this time. But he makes up for it in length. He is growing out of all his 0-3 month clothes and is even starting to wear some 6-9 month items. Babies certainly don't stay little for long. Oh, and he is starting to sleep longer at night. Most nights, he will sleep for about 7-8 hours which makes for a very happy Mama in the morning.

Micah's Blessing
Micah's blessing day was such a wonderful day. We blessed him when he was 5 weeks old, on February 6, 2011. It was so nice to have so many wonderful family members there to support us and show their love for Micah. Here are just a few pictures of some of the people that were able to join us. Also, my Uncle John and Aunt Connie came for the blessing but had to leave immediately afterwards to get to meetings in their ward. Also, we didn't get a picture with Guy's brother Kevin and sister-in-law Emma and their family.
After sacrament meeting, we all went back to our house for some brunch. On the menu was waffles, buttermilk syrup, grapes, strawberries, Lori's famous trifle, hashbrown and egg casserole, sausage, and milk and juice. So yummy!
This is my grandpa and his wife Helen. I just love the look on their faces.
Love the four generation photo!
Ashley wanted to be in every picture she could. Lori stepped out from behind the camera to be in this one.
Looks like everyone grabbed their spouse except for me.
Ignore my cheesy grin and check out Amelia's footwear. She loved wearing Auntie Tamara's shoes, which made Tamara shorter for some pictures.
Our first family photo. Since Micah was in the nursery for most of our stay at the hospital, I never got the shot of all of us crowded on the hospital bed. This will have to do. I love Elliot's GQ look and only Guy and I paying attention to the camera.
Tamara, my mom with Micah, and me. Tamara didn't get the memo to wear a little bit of purple. But don't we all look so cute together?

Bathroom Happenings
There is actual progress in the bathroom and things are starting to take shape. It is so fun to see it all come together. Little by little, a few nights at a time, Guy got all the sheet rock up. I even helped with a few of the pieces, like the ceiling. That was fun since I was 8 1/2 months pregnant.

Next step was mud and tape. Guy had his friend Michael come over and help with this part on President's day. I was busy painting Elliot's room so I didn't get any action shots. Guy and I each had very productive days that day because my mom took the kids for a sleep over. Poor Micah was a little bit neglected while the two of us worked like crazy.

We also did mud and tape on the new wall, which is the other side of the bathroom. Guy had moved the light to be centered in the room so we also had to patch the ceiling. After sanding, Guy and I primed the wall and the patches on the ceiling. Now it is ready for paint. The only problem is that I don't think we saved the extra paint for that room. So, the question is, do we try and match it or just paint the whole room? I think that we might have to paint the entire ceiling for the same reason.
