Not over yet!

Apparently, this little stomach bug wants to stay with our family a little while longer. Amelia spent the rest of the day on Tuesday throwing-up. About an hour after putting the girls to bed, Ashley emerged drenched in throw-up. Guy helped me get her cleaned up and get the sheets changed, only to have a repeat episode about a half hour later. By that point, I was hoping that it would all end soon or else I was in for a really long night, and I was running out of clean sheets. Luckily, the girls survived the rest of the night, but I was hit hard by this little bug at about 4:30 in the morning. Guy was nice enough to take the day off of work to take care of two sick kiddos and one sick wife. I stayed in bed for the majority of the day on Wednesday. It was kind of fun to listen to Guy play "Mr. Mom" for the day. Since Guy is not around Elliot as much, he doesn't understand his words as well as I (sometimes) can. It was so fun to sit back and listen as Elliot would say (in his own way), "I want a corn dog." Then Guy would ask if he wanted a cracker to which Elliot would say (emphatically) "NO!" Guy was trying so hard to figure out what Elliot wanted, but Elliot would answer "no" to everything Guy said. Finally, I yelled to Guy, "I think he wants a corn dog." So Guy asked Elliot, "Do you want a corn dog?" To which Elliot answered, "Uh huh." Then, he was a happy boy!

The girls felt pretty good by dinner time and wanted to eat but I was not in the mood to cook them anything. So, we ate yogurt, crackers and Jell-O. This morning, I fixed cinnamon toast for the kids and Amelia took 2 bites and then said that her tummy didn't feel good and she wanted to go back to bed. I certainly wasn't going to push her to eat so, back to bed she went. About an hour later, she threw-up. But then she said that she was thirsty so I gave her water and later some Saltine crackers. She is looking much better now so I'm hoping (again) that this bug has left our family!

Tired of being sick

As I picked up Amelia off the bus today, I was greeted with "She threw-up." My poor little girl threw-up on the bus. I think that it was just before her stop so that was good. And, a girl that she was sitting by had some wipes in her backpack, so she was able to get a little cleaned up. The bus driver assured her that the bus would go through a car wash tonight and get all the mess out of the inside.

So, my question is, when is it going to end? Amelia was sick the day after Labor day, then Ashley got it two days later. Then, Ashley was sick again on Amelia's birthday. And now, a week later, Amelia has it again. When I told Ashley that Amelia had the throw-ups, she immediately told me that she didn't want the throw-ups again. Of course, no one does, but poor Ashley was sick twice within a two week period. What's going around and why does it keep affecting my kids? I guess I should just stock up on Jell-O and Sprite.
