Spring Break

Spring break for the kids was right after Easter.  Amelia had mentioned that she wanted to learn how to make balloon animals so we went to the library and found a few books on the subject.  After that, we headed to the party supply store for some balloons and a pump.  While reading the instructions, Amelia got a little confused so I ended up being the one learning how to make balloon animals.  It was actually a lot more fun than I thought it would be.

I convinced Guy to take a day off of work and head to the zoo with us.  On the way there, I got a speeding ticket while driving along Foothill Dr.  The officer was really nice and wrote me up for a lesser violation of not having a front license plate (thanks Dad).  I thought the whole situation was hilarious, especially with the whole family in the car.  At least everyone was wearing a seat belt.

Once we got to the zoo, we realized that just about everyone else in Utah had the same idea.  Both parking lots were packed and we ended up parking on the street.  It was so crowded inside.  It was so hard to get a good look at the animals, especially at the new exhibits.  By the end of our visit, the kids were exhausted and barely had enough energy to walk back to the car.

We wrapped up the week of Spring Break with a trip to the Cabin.  It was also Conference weekend so we spent a lot of time watching TV.  It was great to send the kids outside to play though when they needed to get their wiggles out.  My mom taught me how to make cinnamon rolls (oh so yummy) and it might just become a Cabin tradition to make them.  We made them the night before, so for breakfast the next day, things were so easy.

A weekend at the Cabin is exhausting.
